Cement cast from wall texture, Latex, Light, 10” * 16”
Bendix Building, Los Angeles
This work explores the idea of liminal space and hidden presence. By casting the texture of the studio wall I have used for years, the piece gathers the accumulated time and traces of a space I inhabit temporarily. Layered behind the cement fragments is a latex cast of my own skin. It becomes visible from a shifted angle, requiring the viewer to move in order to perceive it.
