Gate, photograph printed on organza, resin finials, 24" * 24"
Bendix Building, Los Angeles

As a continuation of interest in gate, this work shifts focus from the gate as a whole to its finials—the decorative tops of gates that function as a “can’t cross” marker. Incorporating photographs taken in Korea, the piece reflects on boundaries as both cultural and material constructs. Through experimentation with resin, the work focuses on liminal space, where rigid markers of separation become translucent and partially accessible.
